South Dakota Policy Restrictions
All South Dakota health insurance policies must be renewed
by the insurance company if the insured individual requests
it. The only other way an insurance company can cancel
the health insurance policy is if they insured individual
violates a contract agreement.
South Dakota Insurance companies do have the right to
include pre-existing condition exclusions in their insurance
policies. This exclusion makes them not liable for reimbursement
of treatment of these conditions.
There is not list of specific conditions that they must
treat. They have the right to offer permanent and temporary
exclusion. They can also raise premiums to compensate
for these conditions.
South Dakota Insurance Company Restrictions
South Dakota Insurance companies can deny coverage to
any individual or charge higher premiums on the basis
of their current health. They also have the right to raise
insurance premiums based on an individuals age or if their
health has declined. But an insurance company can not
cancel a policy on this basis.
South Dakota natives can sign up for temporary health
insurance. This coverage provides health insurance for
a specific amount of time. This policy can be limited
to exclude pre-existing conditions. It can also be cancelled
by the insurance company at their discretion.
