Coverage Explanation - Car insurance
coverage in Oklahoma must provide a minimum of $10,000
for injury liability for one person in an accident, $20,000
for all injuries in an accident, and $10,000 for property
damage in an accident.

Important Oklahoma Auto
Insurance Laws!
1. All motorists in OK are required to have a minimum
of liability insurance coverage.
2. In accordance with Oklahoma auto insurance law, at
the time of a collision or a traffic stop, the driver
must show a current security verification form (proof
of liability insurance) to the law enforcement officer.
The vehicle owner's insurance company or an individual's
non-owner insurance policy will provide the proper security
verification form.
3. Motorists must carry proof of liability insurance
(security verification form) in their car and must produce
it for any law official when asked.
Important to Note:
The Department of Public Safety will suspend the driver
license of the uninsured driver and/or owner of a vehicle
involved in a collision where there is any injury or property
damage of $300 or more.

driver's security verification form and the driver's complete
name, driver's license number, and date of birth for driver
and owner for your own protection.

Penalties for non-compliance:
A conviction of failure to comply with the Compulsory
Insurance Law or failure to produce proof of insurance
to a law enforcement officer or Department of Public Safety
representative upon request can result in...
- A fine of up to $250, 30 days in jail, or both
- Suspension of license and registration
